Today the city is alive with vendors selling their wares, mostly textiles, beautiful weavings many with added embroideries. Found a top that is $200, delicately woven tapestry of birds and flowers. Each style is from a different region--not that I can tell! They keep dropping the price as you walk away. I don't know how they can afford to do these crafts so reasonably.
Soccer Practice
I bought a chocolate truffle for 50 cents--macadamia and cardamom--and mango slices with ground pumpkin seeds and salt. Yum! Must say I am getting all the black refried beans I ever wanted, but I'm still enjoying them!
Horse drawn cart is for tourists, waiting for customers around the central park.
Antigua is quite safe, although I don't usually go out after dark. With the other gals I felt safe to walk early in the evening. Then taxis are available for later.
